Alaska Whitewater Guiding and Rental

There are Risks involved in Whitewater Kayaking and it is your own resposibility as a single paddler to read the water correctly in order to avoid any injury to yourself or others while on the river. Our experienced guides will be there to instruct and make sure you get down the river safe. Susitna Sled and Kayak will not be held responsible for any judgment errors made by participants while on the river and all participants assume that there are risks involved in whitewater kayaking and agrees to sign a liability release form before any trips.

All hardshell paddlers You will get the thrill of a lifetime on Willow Creeks rapids. Much enjoyment comes from boofing off the soft rocks and whipping into the smallest of eddies. All paddlers must be physically fit to run class II through IV whitewater rivers. Paddlers wanting to run Class III and IV whitewater rivers must be experienced hardshell kayakers in order to fully enjoy rivers with more technical features.

All paddlers will be suited for the water Choosing from our top of the line on drysuits, helmets, PFD's, booties, gloves and paddles.

Inflatable Kayaking Kayaking an inflatable is the perfect way to paddle Willow Creek with it's class II and III rapids. This lightweight kayak requires no Eskimo roll and is very forgiving and stable on the technical parts of the river. Being apart of this activity requires physical strength to paddle class II through IV whitewater rivers. Paddlers wanting to run Class III and IV whitewater rivers should have experience in whitewater kayaking. Please be advised that flipping and swimming is a possibility.

Advanced Creek Boating Clinic with Tim Johnson $150.00

This is a one day, all day class designed to advance your creek boating skills to the next level. You will go over equipment, advanced paddle strokes and bracing, scouting, setting safety and rescue techniques used on

class IV- water and above. Reservations and deposit are required one week in advance.

Intermediate Kayak Clinic $150.00

This is a one day, all day class designed to advance your river running skills and introduce you to creek boating. You will go over equipment, advanced paddle strokes and bracing, scouting, setting safety and rescue techniques used on class III & IV- water. Beginner kayak Clinic $150.00

Guard Rail Section Class III+ & IV- $100.00

The Guard Rail Section is a definate step up from the Red Gate section.2.5 miles of action interspaced with deep recovery pools Reservations recomended.

Red Gate Section Class II & III $75.00

The Red Gate section offers 2.5 miles of beautiful river running with two Class III rapids,and many Class II rapids. Reservations recomended. Call 907-495-1505

Shirley Towne Run Class I & II $75.00

The Shirley Towne section is a great introduction to white water kayaking. Reservations recomended.

On this trip we take the Hurricane Train out of Talkeetna to Chase, Curry or Gold Creek.
